There is a particular of very old (but cheap) friends that I have known for years and dine with occasionally. I aways end up on the short end, since they like to "split the bill evenly!" I now ask for a separate check and leave a generous tip. This irritates them some but I enjoy the meal more when I know i am not going to subsitize thier bill. I don't drink.
