Want to Help A Beauty Pageant Winner Run a Charity Date Auction?
This is certainly one for the law of unintended consequences.
I mentioned the idea of auctioning myself for a charity in my article on revenue equivalence to make the narration interesting. Well, lo and behold, this article has turned out to be interesting in a completely different way.
The article is why I recently received a request from a beauty pageant winner. She wants to run a charity date auction and wants advice on how to do so.
Can you help?
I know people do these things all the time in college. So, I’m asking for your help if you have run or participated in a charity date auction. Here are a few questions that come to my mind immediately:
- How did you set it up?
- What tips do you have about raising money?
- How did you advertise it?
- What rules did you put in place?
- Did you use raffle tickets or other items to raise money and interest?
Any other information you know would be useful.
You can leave tips in the comments (anonymously if you prefer). Or, if you have more personal information, please email me and I’ll forward it along.
Why would you want to help out?
There are all sorts of good reasons, including:
- You’ll be supporting a charity (Children’s Miracle Network).
- You’ll be sharing knowledge.
- You have the chance to help someone who might become Miss America.
- This would make an excellent cocktail party story.
