Mind Your Decisions is working again!

This site was down for a majority of last week. I’m very sorry for the interruption, and I want to explain why this happened.

What happened is this site was hacked. I was angry of course, and I took immediate action. I first put the site offline to diagnose the problem safely. I then spent several days fixing the problem and checking every webpage and every line of code. I made sure the entire site was clean. Only then did I put the site back up. I can certify the site is safe.

I am being specific because of an unfortunate incident. Last week my site was flagged by Google. You might have seen a message “this site may harm your computer,” or you might have been blocked entirely from using the site. I assure you this was completely related to the site being hacked. After the problem was fixed, the site was reviewed by Google as being safe, and it was reinstated during the weekend.

This was not at all what I wanted to work on during my vacation, but then again, security first! The nature of blogs and webpages is that someone is always spamming and hacking legitimate sites. I will continue to make sure this site is safe to use.

I want to give a special thanks to those of you who emailed and tweeted me when the site was first hacked. It is because of you that I could act so quickly and maintain the integrity of this blog. Thanks.
