Gift cards might be the second best thing, or not.
They may the new 'fruit cake' that we try to pass onto others.

warning signs:

The possibility of total loss
The probability of waste
Fees, fees and more fees
Expiration dates
Limits on use
The last few dollars might get trapped on the card
Keep a record of the card's information
Spend it fast
Keep track of your balances
Use your card at a store that allows split payments
Know whom to call

Quite an amusing list you got here Presh...

I would say that the Zune HD is pretty great, I got the dock and use that to output movies to my projector, it works great!

One comment, you can get all the Metriod Prime games in a collection for the same price as the new one. I'd say those three top-rated games for about $50 is an amazing video game deal.

Also, I could kind of caution against the restaurant "gift" cards. Even in Chicago I didn't find any true gift-cards, nearly all of them were some kind of coupon. I gave one to a co-worker once, but the terms were pretty bad (only mon-thursday, bill must be over a certain amount, excludes alcohol, etc...)

Is giving gifts irrational?
Was Ebenezer Scrooge right?

This article seems to suggest just that:

What do you think?
